Consult first

Not sure which tier fits? Schedule a consult — we'll tell you straight, and simple situations often cost less than people expect.

What to bring

Gather these and your appointment is the easy part

The filing deadline lands in mid-April and extensions run to mid-October — but gathering paperwork early is what actually makes tax season painless. Check items off as you find them; this list is just for you, in your browser. Nothing here is saved or sent to us.

Check things off as you gather them — the list keeps count for you.

For everyone

The core stack — most returns need all of these.

If you own a home

Homeowners usually add these three.

If you're self-employed

Owner-operators and 1099 contractors, this is your pile.

Missing something? Bring what you have — chasing the last document is part of what you're paying us for.

Client document portal — included in the full production build

Send documents without a second trip downtown

The production site adds a private, encrypted portal: snap a photo of that last 1099, upload it from your phone, and it lands in your file — no email attachments, no fax machine, no third trip to Main Street. This preview shows where it will live; uploads aren't live on this demo.

Encrypted in transit and at rest, visible only to you and your preparer.

Schedule a consult

Pick a time — we'll confirm it with a person

Tell us what kind of visit you need and when suits you. First conversations are free, whether it's your first year with us or a letter you'd rather not open alone.

No obligation, no fee for the first conversation.

From the neighborhood

Steady work, said plainly

I called in July with a withholding question, fully expecting voicemail. A person answered, pulled up my file, and had it sorted in ten minutes. That's why I stopped doing my own.

Questions we get a lot

Straight answers, before you even call

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Start with the what-to-bring checklist above — ID, Social Security cards, W-2s and 1099s, last year's return, and your bank details cover most individual returns. Homeowners and self-employed folks add a few lines. Bring what you have; we'll flag anything missing at the consult rather than sending you home.

How long does it take to prepare my return?

A simple individual return dropped off with complete documents is usually ready within a week, even mid-season. Business returns and multi-state situations take longer — we'll give you an honest timeline at drop-off. Off-season work (amendments, cleanup, planning) typically turns around in a few days.

What will my situation cost?

Our tiers are posted right on this page: simple individual returns are $180 flat, itemized or multi-state starts at $280, self-employed at $340, and S-corp or partnership returns at $650. If your return lands in a "+" tier, we tell you the number before we start — nobody finds out the price at pickup.

I haven't filed for a year or two. Can you fix that?

Yes — prior-year cleanup is a regular part of our week, not a scandal. We start with a consult to see which years are open and what records exist, then quote the work before touching anything. Catching up is almost always calmer than people fear, and filing sooner beats filing later.

What should I do if I get an IRS letter?

Don't ignore it, and don't panic — most notices are a question, not an accusation. Bring it in (or read it to us over the phone) and we'll translate what it's actually asking, what the deadline is, and what a sensible response looks like. We'll prepare that response with you; what we won't do is promise a particular outcome, because nobody honestly can.
